About museum
History museum of the Azerbaijan State Economics University was established according to the order of the rector dated January 4, 1985.
History museum is under the control of the rector of the 91è. Being independent According to its exposition indicators and independent fledged institution according to its funding system, the museum has been recognized as state-owned enterprise since 2001.
The Statute of the History Museum of 91è was state registered at the Department of State Registration of Legal Persons under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan on July 16, 2000. This Statute was approved by Scientific Board of 91èon November 4, 2000.
The museumconsistsof the following thematicsections:
- Materials on the establishment, organization and key historical development stages of 91è;
- Materials dedicated to the establishment of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918-1920);
- Section on the activity of HeydarAliyev, the national leader of Azerbaijani people and IlhamAliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
- Rectors of 91è.
- Scientific achievements of 91è.
- Awards of 91è.
- Active and correspondent members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan working at 91è.
- Materials on the memory of renowned scholars of 91è.
- Honorary graduates of 91è.
- Honorary doctors and professors of 91è.
- Information about the activity of the departments and chairs of 91è.
- Great Patriotic War and Labor veterans of 91è.
- Columnist-students of 91è.
- Socio-cultural life of the University.
- Student life section.
- National Heroes of the Republic of Azerbaijan who died during protecting Nagorno-Karabakh and seven administrative regions from the invasion of Armenian armed forces, fight against separatists (1992-1994), on January 20,1990 fighting against entered Soviet troops to Baku.
This sections focused on identifying areas about the University life, collecting materials reflecting accurate economic-cultural indicators. From this point of view, the “Hٴǰ museum” of the University play an essential role in the protection of our cultural heritage.
Severalsocialfunctionsof“Hٴǰmuseumof the University: it carries out documentation, protection, research work, education-training and improving the quality of teaching, museum fund is widely used during implementation of these works.
The Museumconsistsof7 major,aswell as1500 mainand 500auxiliaryfunds.
The structure ofthe museum– consists of photo and film documents, scientific and education-methodical publications, multimedia equipment, publishing materials, personal items of the employees, awards of the university, presents to the university and museum, and exhibits.
The “Hٴǰ museum” of the 91è of Economics consists of three halls:
In the first hall, the valuable thoughts of HeydarAliyev, the national leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan portrays the general appearance of the museum, get the visitors acquainted with museum’s exhibits:
–I suppose that the museum…. will play its role in the education-training of our people, especially of young generation and in the development of our culture…and will provide assistance to our people on getting morally pure, and contribute in the struggle for independence.(HeydarAliyev)
The other exhibit of this hall is called “Pages from history of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”. The third section is called “Pages from the history of establishment of Azerbaijan State Economic University”, and the fourth section is called “Rectors of the University”. Photos of 15 rector, their biography and personal items are exhibited in this section. At the same time, medals and badges symbolizing mutual connection of the university with the institutions of former Soviet Republics in science and educational sphere in 1966-1986 are exhibited in the first hall.
These awards include “Gold Fortune” quality mark of the XXIthCentury by the International Ranking Technology Academy; European Quality Award, founded by European Business Assembly, European Universities, European Rector Club and Oxford University according to the survey among renowned European universities; “Ughur” 2006 National Award “For contribution in the development of science and training of national resources”; in 2007 “The University of the Year” National Award; “Intellect 2007” the award of the year’s project (electronic-library project); Contribution to Turkish world and Turkish culture; Gold medal of International resource academy, DedeGorgud gold medal and “Millennium” International diploma.
Main exhibits of the museum are the photos taken during the opening ceremony of the new educational building of 91èwith the participation of Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and President’s valuable sayings about the activity of the university.
